Driver...
First off the Realtek site sux.
This one suppose to work with all Win vers.
http://www.download3k.com/MP3-Audio-Vid ... river.html
and so is this one...
http://www.download.com/Realtek-High-De ... 88584.html
Is the computer in warranty... think about contacting Gateway.
Advice: In the future do not buy Gateway. Way too proprietary in design as well as Dell's and HP's. LOL... matter of fact just build your own machines, that's how I get around all the BS.
Hope this helps. ~Wiz

I had problems with my sound once… this may help you idk. I had to go into control panel and go into the sound control. I hit advanced and had to turn off digital output. My sound works fine now that I did that. *shrugs* You could always shoot me the serial number on your computer so I can look at your exact machine on gateway. I'm sure I could help you out if I know for sure what you are looking for.
PS: Check the port that you plugged your speakers into and make sure it’s the right one.
